Sarah Scott, LOLA’S creator, has fifteen years experience in public relations and event production, primarily in the fashion and entertainment industries. She has managed several small businesses including a photography gallery, a high-end clothing boutique, a clothing label, and has been involved in the startup of several businesses, consulting on marketing and management. Michael Culhane, advisor to LOLA’S, has twenty-four years experience in the wholesale and inbound tour operating business and hospitality industry. He was a founding partner in the premier wildlife safari company Gametrackers International and built it to sales of over $30 million in ten years before selling it to Orient Express. He is the current president of AdventureLink, an online global marketplace for adventure/eco travel enthusiasts, agents and suppliers, which will debut to the general public in January 2008.
John Ashley Scott, LOLA'S sustainable operations consultant, has an extensive international background in senior level sustainability analysis and solutions, developing innovative commercial multi-partner and multi-disciplinary programs. His expertise lies in building strategic relationships, and promoting and applying new corporate and organizational concepts, tools and technologies for environmental, economic and social benefit. Ashley developed the Earthcheck benchmarking system to measure triple-bottom line sustainable performance for travel and tourism accreditation for Green Globe, which is now implemented in over fifty countries. He is currently Vice President Operations for ARRRC International, Canada and the STCRC Professor of Corporate Sustainability, Victoria University, Australia.
J. Ashley Smith, operations consultant for LOLA’S, specializes in sales, service and human resources in the hospitality industry. He is also a consultant for the Rockhouse Hotel in Negril and owner of the Blue Owl Cocktail Room, a modern day speakeasy in New York City. Ashley is assisting during the development phase until a permanent general manager is found.
Larry Santoyo, LOLA’S Permaculture designer, is the director of Earthflow Design Works, a planning and design firm that integrates comprehensive economic development strategies with pragmatic ecological systems management. For over twenty years, he has assisted companies around the world in developing industrial ecologies and sustainable business practices, specializing in creating functional works of art, architecture and living environments. He is among the most experienced Permaculture designers and educators in the US and has taught environmental design at colleges and universities nationwide. Larry is co-director of The Terra Foundation and founder of the Permaculture MicroVillage Network.
Peter Reeson, director and principal consultant at Environmental Solutions Ltd. in Kingston, is an environmental scientist with over thirty years experience in coastal ecology, natural resources evaluation and management, environmental assessment and monitoring, project planning and management, and organizational development. He has developed an expertise in the assessment and management of the environmental issues related to building and construction, transportation, tourism and resort development, aquaculture, coastal and port development, and energy transmission for both the public and private sectors in Jamaica.
Christine Haberstock, LOLA’S artistic director, is a fine artist who runs Atelier 5, a multi-media art factory in Berlin, Germany. In addition, she paints, illustrates, curates, teaches, does theatrical design, manufactures a line of gift products and works as an art director for a wide variety of projects. Tina has exhibited her work around the globe, created much-applauded murals in several countries, created community art projects for children, was the art curator for Lollapalooza, provided art direction for a Spike Lee Nike commercial and was a founding partner of Megaboom, an interactive multi-media gallery in Hollywood, CA. Her projects and interests are as diverse as her upbringing in South Africa, Australia, Germany, Italy and the US, which is reflected in her art: emotional, colorful, decorative and powerful.
